Ignition Failure

Hello!

 

Problems again...

 

I washed my Tico's engine with water, later i started the engine, everything was ok.

Some kilometers later the engine became weak.The work of the engine not smooth.

I think water get into the ignition system.

I reolaced the distributor cap,distributor rotor ,cables ,sparks.

 

I don't want to replace all the elements of ignition system.

 

Could anyone help me, what could be the reason?

 

Expensive parts of ignition system are: -ignition coil (not replaced)

-picup coil (not replaced)

-ignitor (not replaced, the most expensive part)

 

I would like to know if somebody had the same failure and it's solution.

Well, with a little luck, you can have your engine back if you leave your car in the sun for a couple of hours.

 

And don't wash your engine again! What's the reason? Mine has three years... and was never washed! And is looking ok! And running wild... )

Leave your car in direct sunlight to the engine compartment, with the distributor cap opened, so the vapours can leave the distributor.
