three6t
The cause of rattle often is the backplate of the diskpads when the front pad area wears out, it causes loose packing of the whole assembly here are few measures you should take 1) bend the copper clip slightly inwards to retain tension and grip 2) Apply greese to the back of the pads upon the metallic covers 3) apply grease to the pins holding the assembly I have also posted this procedure with pictures at this location:- Resolving rattle from front brakes Matiz Link to comment
Englishman
Useful advice, but how about posting in the English corner instead? Link to comment
andreib
The simple way that this problem is solved in the vast majority of repair shops is by inserting a tooth cut from a timing belt (or 2cm a piece from spark plug lead) between the outer edge of the exterior brake pad and the caliper so that the caliper doesn't have any play (thus eliminating the annoying rattle).
